What is the New DCU?

The DCU Incorporation Programme is the planned coming together of St Patrick’s College, Drumcondra, Mater Dei Institute of Education and Church of Ireland College of Education with Dublin City University – the New DCU.

Following incorporation the vision for the New DCU includes a new Institute of Education and an enhanced Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences that will benefit from the combined strengths of the four institutions.

De thoradh próisis a dtugtar Clár Ionchorpraithe OCBÁC air, táthar ag beartú go mbeidh Coláiste Phádraig, Droim Conrach (CPDC), Institiúid Oideachais Mater Dei (IOMD) agus Coláiste Oideachais Eaglais na hÉireann (COEÉ) mar chuid d’Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath Nua (OCBÁC).

Following incorporation the vision for Tá fís ag ionchorprú DCU a chuimsíonn Institiúid Oideachais nua agus Dámh na nDaonnachtaí agus na nEolaíochtaí Sóisialta méadaithe a bhainfidh leas as láidreachtaí na n-institiúidí bunaidh.

For the first time, DCU, SPD and MDI shared a single stand at the Higher Options conference from Sept 17th - 19th

Joint Open Days took place on Nov 14th and 15th with staff and students from DCU, MDI and SPD on Glasnevin and St Patrick's campuses

September 2015

 

All first year under graduate and post grad research students from DCU, SPD and MDI will be registered as DCU students

September 2015

 

First intake of students to the joint honours degree programme - MA in Irish Studies

September 2016

 

All incoming and existing students of DCU, SPD and MDI will be registered as DCU students

September 2016

 

DCU and the 3 incorporating institutions - SPD, MDI and CICE will exist as a single legal entity
